WHAT IS EUROPE IN MY BACKYARD ?

One of the main challenges that the European Union is facing nowadays is linked to this question: How to bring the European cohesion spirit & values closer to its citizens?

This project aims to share information, debate and offer high level analysis regarding the impact and perspectives of the European cohesion policy in six countries.

In the process of identifying and recognizing common European values, media have and must continue to play an essential role in getting information out, but also in promoting reflection, debate and critical analysis about this shared space known as Europe for all of us.

6 COUNTRIES, 140 RADIOS, 4 MILLON LISTENERS

The project EUROPE IN MY BACKYARD is an initiative promoted by six European local & regional radios that aims to raise awareness about the European cohesion policy in six European regions, through the implementation & broadcast of a global communication strategy.

120 RADIO SHOWS & 240 PODCASTS IN 6 LANGUAGES

Radio is the central axis and medium of the project. It is therefore through the broadcast of interviews that the key information relating to European cohesion policy will be disseminated. But it is in the nature of this European radio network that the particular added value of the project lies: All the partners are local media, media with a strong local and regional anchoring, and whose media impact is part of the territory  in which they are situated.

These 140 radios at European level will broadcast a radio campaign composed of 120 x 30 min radio shows about European cohesion policies in Andalusia (Spain), in Lombardy (Italy), in Central Hungary, in Leinster (Ireland), in Baden Württemberg (Germany) and in Central Slovenia, for a total audience of more than 4.6 million people.  The campaign aims to promote and foster a better understanding of the role of the cohesion policy for all regions of the European Union. To raise awareness about EU funded projects and their impact on citizens’ lives and to share information and encourage an open dialogue on cohesion policy and  its role in implementing the EU’s strategic priorities and future.
